2021 Meeting Announced: Wednesday 13 January 2021 14:00 to 17:00

 

The 100th Annual (and first ever Virtual) Meeting of the Transportation Research Board will be held over several weeks in January 2021.   Committee Meetings will be conducted during period from January 5 to January 14.

Davidson Ward, FMW Solutions LLC, Chair of the Standing Committee on Rail Rolling Stock and Motive Power (AR020) will preside over the Annual Committee Meeting.

The committee is interested in all manner of technologies related to rail rolling stock and motive power including, but not limited to: freight rail; intercity passenger rail; commuter rail; high speed rail; and light rail. Topics of interest include emissions; propulsion; energy efficiency; rail wheel interface; interoperable equipment; alternative fuel and propulsion systems; and other rail equipment-related areas. The committee is also concerned with the introduction of new technologies and vehicles for guided passenger and freight transportation systems, both passenger and freight, and reviewing regulatory barriers that may hinder the introduction of new technologies or equipment.

1st Virtual Annual Meeting of the Transportation Research Board

The TRB's 100th Annual Meeting will be conducted as a virtual event over a series of dates throughout January 2021

The decision to go virtual was made out of concern for the health and safety of all meeting attendees, in light of the  coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

The Commuter Rail Subcommittee Meeting will be held Thursday January 14, 2021 | 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm (EST)
