The 100th Annual (and first ever Virtual) Meeting of the Transportation Research Board will be held over several weeks in January 2021. Committee Meetings will be conducted during period from January 5 to January 14.
The committee is interested in all manner of technologies
related to rail rolling stock and motive power including, but not limited to:
freight rail; intercity passenger rail; commuter rail; high speed rail; and
light rail. Topics of interest include emissions; propulsion; energy
efficiency; rail wheel interface; interoperable equipment; alternative fuel and
propulsion systems; and other rail equipment-related areas. The committee is
also concerned with the introduction of new technologies and vehicles for
guided passenger and freight transportation systems, both passenger and
freight, and reviewing regulatory barriers that may hinder the introduction of
new technologies or equipment.
